When it comes to decorating your home, you may not consciously think of how to make your home look expensive, but you definitely know you don’t want it to look cheap! That is why I am offering three easy tips to make your home look expensive when you’re decorating on a budget!

Oversized Accessories
When it comes to selecting accessories it’s going to make your home look expensive if you select oversized and large accessories rather than small accessories that come off as knickknacks. You will end up saving money by not having to purchase as many accessories and the large scale of the accessories you choose will come off as luxurious.

Shop Second Hand

Shopping for items secondhand will allow you to purchase higher quality and more expensive items at lower price points. Facebook marketplace, craigslist, and offer up are three of my favorite places to shop because I am able to purchase high-end designer pieces at extremely low prices. I recently purchased an antique wood dresser from Facebook marketplace for $70! Choosing high-quality items second hand will make your home look more expensive on a budget.
Classics Over Trends

By selecting classic design items for larger pieces in your home such as sofas, beds, dressers, and, desks you will save money because you will not be replacing them as often as you would if you selected a trendy piece of furniture. Classics will always be in style and you won’t feel as if you have purchased some thing that is out of trend.
If you love a trend select items that are easier to replace such as soft goods like pillows and throws or smaller pieces like nightstands or side tables. By selecting classic pieces you will make your home look more expensive than if you selected trendy items.
Have fun decorating your home!
