This is the gorgeous aesthetic we are going for and with a few simple steps, you can create your own Grasscloth Console Table for under $150!
Simple Grasscloth Console Table Tutorial:
Now, let’s get down to business. First, you need to decide what piece of furniture you are going to cover with the grasscloth wallpaper. You can recreate this look with a desk, console table, or even a bedside table. The key is finding a piece that has the shapes and lines that you want for your space.
One of the amazing things about this project is that you can give new life to an old piece you already own or upcycle something new to you. Here are some pieces with great lines that you could upcycle into your own Grasscloth Console Table:
Then, you need to find and purchase grasscloth peel and stick wallpaper. I ordered this wallpaper off of Amazon, I picked the cream color but they also had blue and neutral. The blue would be beautiful for a preppy and coastal aesthetic.
To prep the piece of furniture you will want to clean off the piece of furniture and make sure it’s clear of any dirt or dust. Then you determine how much wallpaper you need to cover the top and pre-cut your pieces. Remove the back of the sticky side and place the wallpaper on and make sure that you smooth out all of the bubbles. You can use a wallpaper smoothing kit like this one here:
Grasscloth has a textured look which is great for this DIY, it will be forgiving even if everything isn’t perfectly lined up. Bubbles won’t show and you can easily cover up errors as you go!
